Gmail Down Unable to access(and we’re back)
We have check and it appears that Google’s mail service, Gmail, is down. Our tests from the Center Networks International Headquarters shows that it is unreachable. The time of our tests was 3:54pm Eastern Time. We will continue to update this post with additional announcements as they become available. Google’s Apps Status Dashboard shows an outage for Gmail although they state it’s for a “small subset of users”.
I use Gmail for a great majority of my email so it’s a bit of concern, but considering it’s a free service can’t say much

Update: I am currently signed into my gmail account so all is well. Consider it’s recent rapid growth it’s expected to happen.
