Not only are we buying more and more of our products and services online, it would appear that many of us also want to sell online. Indeed, it’s not only large corporate companies trading online nowadays. In fact most of the web design quote requests come from individuals trading from home. People are selling flowers, their own music cds, chocolates. So there is a definite market for ecommerce web design solutions. It is however a very particular market segment and offering the right product at the right price is the key to securing the ecommerce web design business.

The best way to getting the right product to market is to start with the target clients profile and needs. Although we do design complex ecommerce web design solutions for corporate clients, there is a large market for the smaller customers. These customers are looking for 3 key product features: bespoke web design, budget price and simple to use. What is budget price for a bespoke ecommerce web design solution? And how simple should the web design solution be?

The web design industry is very competitive and sales is very price sensitive. Targeting the budget web design industry can be tricky. Price your ecommerce web design too low and run the risk of losing money or appearing too cheap. Price it too high and you could miss out on a whole range of the ecommerce web design market. Indeed, even an individual potential web design customer selling from home would expect to pay a price for a bespoke quality web design. People know that they have to pay a price to get a decent quality ecommerce web design.

Remember also that individuals selling from home generally require a simple backend from where they can easily upload their products. A standard and adequate web design feature set would include a dynamic category list, individual product image upload , title, description and price update through a simple secure backend page. This is all most potential ecommerce web design clients require to start selling online. Occasionally some clients may require special features like a simple stock management system. This is usually optional and is charged as an-add on from the outset. Keep the web design quote simple, transparent and explain everything before taking payment.

Security is an important issue as well. The standard ecommerce web design solution uses Paypal secure site to take credit card payments so security is less of an issue. However, if a web design customer requires secure credit card transactions on his/her own site then it is vital to use a reliable merchant provider and an ssl on the web site for security.

If your business didn’t sell goods online, you didn’t need a Web site. That attitude today can kill a business faster than an IRS audit. And yet, 46 percent of the approximately 25 million small businesses in the U.S. don’t have a Web site, according to a May 2006 study conducted by the Kelsey Group. Is your business one of them?

In his address to small business professionals attending the Small Business Summit 2007 yesterday in New York City, Justin Kitch, CEO of Homestead Technologies, a Web-site creation company, called the impact of the Internet a “seismic shift for small business that will only increase over the next five years.”

While playfully entitled “Your Business Is Dead and You Don’t Even Know It,” Kitch’s presentation delivered a hard-to-ignore message. “A Web site is your ticket to get into the game,” said Kitch. “If you don’t have one, you might as well not even name your business.”

According to Kitch, if you don’t have a Web site for your small business:

* Seventy percent of your competitors will have a huge advantage over you.

* You’re missing the chance to be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week — essentially for free.

* You’re losing out on 99.9 percent of the world.

10 Reasons Why

Jeff Stibel, the CEO of Web.com, another leading Web site services provider, shares Kitch’s point of view. He says he believes that many small businesses misunderstand what it means to take a business online. “E-commerce is only half the story,” he says. “There are so many different kinds of small businesses, and they don’t involve e-commerce. But a Web site can help them build their overall business.”

To drive the point home, Stibel offers 10 reasons why every small business should have a Web site.

Establish Credibility

A Web site establishes you as a professional in your field and helps people to feel more comfortable doing business with you.

Provide In-depth Information

Adding specialized content such as testimonials, tips and your own expertise builds your presence. “Providing local information ties you to the community at large,” says Stibel.

Make Shopping Easy

There’s a distinction between e-commerce and shopping, says Stibel. Even if you’re not an e-commerce site, he says you need to accept credit cards. Determine whether you’re selling online or offline. Then either set your site up for e-commerce or get an 800 number and use the site to lead people to call. “If you’re selling through your storefront, provide information [directions, a mapping tool] on your site to help get customers in your store.”

Enhance Customer Relations

Know your customer, and build your site around them. For example, a pizza place might be known for its special dough. “The owner could post information on his site about what makes the dough so good, the water, the technique, what ever it is. It helps build customer loyalty.”

Increase Customer Spending

What you sell in a physical store is limited by the amount of inventory you can store. What you sell online is unlimited. Referring to the pizza place, Stibel points out that while he doesn’t sell pizzas online, he could sell t-shirts, caps or even the dough.

Expand Nationally or Worldwide

A storefront business without a Web site limits its customer base to the local area. “With a Web site, anyone can find you, and you can expand your business reach across the country or across the world,” says Stibel.

Gather Customer Data

Collecting information on your customers’ tastes and interests is tough to do without a Web site. Analytics software lets you see who’s been to your site, what they looked at and where they came from. “This kind of in-depth data and feedback can help you make your business better,” says Stibel.

Stand Out from the Competition

A Web site can help you differentiate yourself from your competitors. “There might be dozens of pizza places in your town,” says Stibel. “A Web site helps you tell prospective customers why you’re better.”

Brand Extension

Once you’ve established brand identity, a Web site can also help you extend that brand into other areas. Stibel cites a potter for example. “A potter could move beyond the actual art he or she creates and start selling dried flowers or even furniture. Having an online presence lets you do this in ways you can’t with one storefront.”

Drive Traffic to an Offline Location

Finally, a Web site can drive customers to your real-world location. “This is critical for business people such as chiropractors, plumbers and real estate agents,” says Stibel. “An online presences grows your offline business.”

If it is lacking something, you must take care of that and do whatever best possible for your site. It is the fact that you have done enough to make your web the best possible one and applied all the principles of web designing.

You have the most persuasive contents incorporated in the site. Yet you are not getting the expected results as you expect it to be. Your sell as well as profit is not growing; your fame is not growing. Is there anything wrong? You are smelling something, suspecting something wrong being responsible for such a shabby turnover of your business. Here is a way out for you. You can think of the e-commerce website development services which are evolving faster than what you can think of. Simply you are to update your site, and that’s all. The art and craft of web designing must be known to you. Now, the solution is in your hand growing with the web site development services.

In any business, time is an important factor. The same logic is applicable here. Our growth is dependent on both time and teratology. Time is enormously potential. With the passage of time, the web designing too is growing faster. New tools and implements are coming very often. There is no scope for complacence. Keep on upgrading your site with new tools. Make your web designing more persuasive, more promising, more challenging. This is the key to success. Among other newly discovered things, 3D objects and robots are very important. They will give your site a new look as well as add cutting edge to it. Design your website by using 3D software, latest technologies and other sophisticated materials. With the use of 3D objects, a simple spreadsheet can edit your site. You can also manipulate, if you know, the object’s chamfers, fillets, dimensions, shell thickness and more. What you need to know is to explore the software to create an amazing 3D object for your website.

On the other hand, you can download the robots. There are a number of sites where robots are available. With the help of robots, you can provide your potential customers with innumerable information. It is after all to arrest the attention of viewers of your website. As they look at your site, they will come to know the information representing your business and sites. They are recorded with such intention. They may not require to scroll or type but information will get displayed automatically. The information is made ready for them.

Having done so many things, you are not safe. The viewers are very choosy and can change their minds in a fraction of second. Before they take their attention back, you are to arrest them. In order to do that, 3D objects and robots are used to uplift your e-commerce web site development. These 3D objects and tools will make your viewers addicted to your site.

More and more discoveries are coming with their amazing impact. In the days ahead, the web designing will take a totally different shape from its present one. Inventions and technologies add varieties and cutting edge to it. It will make it more users friendly and effective. They will be just customer traps spread in front of our eyes. That is the strength of e-commerce.

E-commerce web design is no longer scary and if nothing else, it is simple as long as you are willing to do a little research and take your time.

E-commerce web design is for building websites that sell products or services via the Internet. E-commerce web design can be as simple or complex as you desire and depending on your specific needs. All you really need to do is flesh out the details of how you want the site to look and run and the rest is easy. You do need to solve a few issues before beginning like hosting and bandwidth but those are simple enough to determine and can be readily solved at one company.

E-commerce web design is not country specific. Anyone in any country can build an e-commerce site. All you would need to figure out is the monetary issues. Keeping in mind that not all countries money convert one to one, you would need to make sure that you knew how you wished to be paid, especially if your product will be sold to customers around the world.

For instance, if you are planning to build a e-commerce site in the U.S, you would first need to decide if you will offer the products or services, you sell outside of the U.S. A U.S e-commerce site is no different in e-commerce web design from any other countries site other than the monetary unit that will be used. So if you are planning on selling outside the U.S, then your U.S e-commerce site would have to offer an exchange rate for those customers who live outside of the U.S.

E-commerce web design can be achieved through many free services all over the web. These companies will host your site while providing the tools you need to build the site from scratch. Following a simple template method, these sites guide you through the process with ease. By the time you are finished you have a completely professional e-commerce website that is ready to accept visitors and sell products and services.

There are a few downfalls to these free hosting services. Most times, they are supported by advertising, which could mean annoying pop up ads for your customers to deal with. They may also place large banner ads on your site for which you will receive no payment. Be careful when choosing your free hosting service. It will do you no good if they are offering the same products you are on a different site while advertising on your site.

E-commerce web design is no longer a pain in the neck. With basic knowledge, you can design a site that fits your needs. The major hurdle is bringing traffic to the site. Do plenty of research on bringing customers to your site before opening for business. This way you will not be caught with a lot of products and no one to purchase them. As that is every business man and women’s worst fear, having masses of products in the warehouse, but not having anyone buy them off them.

With the ease of use with e-commerce you can set up your site in no time. Plus with the right promotional tactic you could be one of the most popular websites. But there is a long way to go before anything like that happens.
